Seven

Just seven days until the wedding! Well, until the ceremony. The ceremony is a small, private event and then the reception is a few days later. That's the big event. Beth and I picked up our dresses the other day! We brought our shoes and all the accessories, and tried everything on together. It kind of felt like a dress rehearsal.

Remember the issue with my shoes for the ceremony? The navy ones? Well, I remembered we have a Skechers store not far from us so we stopped there after we got our dresses and I found the exact navy shoes on the clearance rack. Two pair. Neither one in my size. So we went next door to Ross and I found navy shoes with more rounded toes that I like even better! And, there was one pair in my size! What a relief! We got Beth a new pair of dress shoes... finally found some ties for Chuck, we had to go to three different stores. They said they just aren't getting any shipments. So now I think we're good to go in the clothing area.

I'm not sure I'll be on here anymore before we leave. I've got one more (I hope only one more) day of work before we begin the final packing.

We are beyond excited!

I'll leave you with a sneak peek. These are for the Reception...

What Does One Wear?

Computer's fixed! I'm excited to share our weekend with you!

Our flight left at 11:30pm and after a two hour layover in Detroit, we landed in Newark, New Jersey at 10:30am NJ time. I'd never taken a red-eye before and I actually enjoyed it. It was fun to just hit-the-ground-running once we landed and start the vacation right away!

It was a massive plane. They told Sharaya very few people are flying internationally so they're using these planes when they can. There were two seats on each side and four in the middle!

We flew in on Friday and came home Sunday. Every day was filled to the brim but I want to start with Saturday. The main reason we went.

Me, Diana and Sharaya met Peter's mom and sister for brunch, then we headed to Ashley's Bridal. The search for the perfect dress was on!

I'm only going to post this one photo. This is Diana with my veil and silk bouquet, somewhere around 1998-2000. She's been looking forward to this day for a very long time. 😊

We were a little surprised to have a guy helping her (I whispered to Sharaya that she might have to go in and help her get dressed) but he was so good! She told him what style she was looking for and he would hand her the exact designer she wanted. When she was ready he'd help button the back and fix the dress once she was out with us. If she didn't like the sleeves he'd hide them, he answered all of her questions, he really was fantastic. She ended up trying on a total of 4 dresses. And in the end....

She said YES to the dress!! It looks absolutely stunning on her! We all cried, definitely didn't bring enough kleenex! Once she found the dress she was able to facetime her best friend back in Seattle and SHE cried! We all went to dinner afterward and Peter's mom asked her, "So what type of dresses do you want us to wear?"

She said, "Well, we're kind of getting married in a castle." Oh, that's true! This is a picture of the venue off their website. So now I have a question for all of you.

What does one wear to a castle?

You Think You Know a Girl

All Aboard is hosting a Prom. It's on September 8 and the theme is The Sky's The Limit. Beth didn't go to her prom in high school. That might have been partially my fault as I was working by then and didn't even consider the fact that she might want to go.

I know Beth isn't the only one who didn't go though and I think that's why All Aboard is planning this. I'm SO grateful that there are organizations out there that help make up for my shortcomings.

We started looking for dresses a few weeks ago and as we're walking into the store I asked Beth if there was someone she might want to ask to the prom.

"Maybe."

"Really Beth? Who?"

"C."

And that's where it ended. She didn't want to talk about it anymore. Okay, that's fine. Probably some guy she has a crush on. So cute. :)

Last night Diana and I were talking about places to look for dresses and I siad, "I wish there was someone she could ask to the prom and Diana said, "Yea. C."

Wait, what?? How do you know about C?

"Well, she's given him her phone number."

What?? Then Diana begins to tell me that C bowls with the All Aboard league. They sit on the bus together and he puts his arm around her.

What?? I guess he's taken their picture, you know those cheek to cheek pictures with one arm outstretched... oh my word. She's never said anything to me!!

Then Diana said that she's asked Beth why she won't ask C to the prom and Beth told her, "Nope. It's his move."

Who IS this girl?!?!?
