Camping, Moving, and School Supplies!

Beth and I went back-to-school shopping the other day. She's 37 and has been out of school for a while but she LOVES office supplies! And the prices right now are hard to beat! Then we stopped at the grocery store. This was on Friday and the place was packed! I don't remember the lines being so long, it was crazy. I figured it was because of the start of the holiday weekend.

Sharaya and Ally moved out on Sunday. She had movers get the big items out of storage then came here. We helped her load up a few things in her car and as she pulled away, I started ugly crying! I was so emotional knowing I wouldn't see them every day anymore. It's been so good having them here. I'm gonna remember this year as such precious time with them.

Diana and Peter went camping this weekend. They sent a video of Poppy playing in a river, she was having a blast! And Peter is a phenomenal photographer. I might steal some of these for my greeting cards!

We've had a pretty quiet weekend. We just helped Sharaya take a another load from the storage unit over to their new place. Chuck is making dinner and I'm, well, I'm writing to you! Hope you're doing well!

In my next post I have a couple of miracles to tell you about!

This and That

We had a different Easter this year. Just me, Chuck and Beth. There were 3 services at church and I had to be there to disinfect after each one. Chuck and Beth helped this time too. Then we went out to breakfast and spent the rest of the day at home, watching movies and relaxing.

We recently bought some new blinds for our sliding door and the two big windows in the living room. They'll be delivered and then Lowes will come out and install them. These are the ones we got for the windows. The door will have vertical blinds... I'm so excited!!

Sharaya and Ally went to San Diego last weekend. They drove down with some friends and they drove straight through! It's 22 hours of driving, if I've remembered right. Chuck and I did that a few times but I remember the last time we did it. It was just too hard to keep our eyes open, too hard on our bodies without the rest we needed... oh to be young again! :)

Well anyway, Sharaya and Ally have had a blast down there! The resort they're staying at has a small water park along with the pool; they've been to the zoo, Balboa Park, the beach, they kayaked around La Jolla caves and even rode The Giant Dipper at Belmont Park!

This was built in 1925 and restored in 1993

Diana and Peter went camping over Easter weekend. I forgot to ask her where they went but she said they had fun! They're adjusting some wedding plans due to covid travel restrictions and make it easier for some family members to attend. I asked her if she's been shopping for dresses and she said no, but she did bring two wedding magazines on their camping trip. 😄

Well that's about it from our house. I'm getting a slow start on the yard work this year. We get a few days of rain, then sun. Then rain... I hope you're all having a wonderful start to spring!

Have you ever been camping?

Do you like roller coasters?

Aaaand, It's Over

It's been a good week.

Daylight Saving Time, I stepped outside early this morning and was immediately brought back to my childhood. The smell of the pine trees, the birds chirping, the crisp cool air, overwhelmed my senses and reminded me of camping at Green Valley Falls in the mountains east of San Diego.

Anyway, I just stood outside for a while, breathing in the cool air and smiling at the sights and sounds. So grateful I could get this just by stepping out my back door.

Diana and I took walks along the marina.

I forced myself to relax this week. I got bored but I embraced it. :) I got tired of sitting around but I made myself do it. IT. WAS. WONDERFUL!!

I spent some time in prayer, pouring my heart out to the Lord about our circumstances. I cried at times, I actually laughed myself to sleep one night! (I'm unique, I know. Don't judge.) :)

It was a good week but tomorrow I head back to work. To be honest, I've kinda missed it. It will be good to get back to my usual routine, see my friends and coworkers.

I hope you all have a very blessed week.

Biscuits!

I just re-read some of my posts and they've been a little sad lately. Sorry about that.

We've had a really good weekend. For the first time in months, Chuck didn't have to work. We had 4 days together and it was awesome! We didn't really do much, but even while we just watched TV, we'd hold hands and talk. It was exactly what I needed. On Sunday we drove down to Federal Way (about 30 minutes from here) to the Black Bear Diner for lunch. We love that place! We usually only go there when we're on vacation but when we found out they opened one near us we knew we were in trouble! Our favorite thing on the menu? Their biscuits! Diana took this picture, these biscuits are huge. At least 5" tall by 4" across. I'm not kidding! SO yummy!

Diana went to a friends cabin over the weekend. When she got home she told us about how they went out on the row boat but no one knew how to row so they kind of got stranded. She talked about how gorgeous the cabin was, how the owner just kept feeding them. Sounds like she really had a good time!

Sharaya, Ryan and Allie went camping with their small group. I think this might have been the first time Allie slept in a tent! They borrowed our blow up mattress but I haven't heard how it went. (I stole these pictures from their facebook pages.) :)

Except for when we went out to lunch on Sunday, Chuck, Beth and I stayed close to home this weekend. Just the way we like it.
