I caught Beth at work last week. She doesn't know I took this picture! She's already doing the job by herself, I don't even have to go with her anymore. And actually, I haven't in quite a while. She really learned it fast: clocking in and out, where to get all the supplies, and she loves it. She can't wait to go to work every week!
Pulling double shifts last week was kinda creepy. Our church is busy 7 days a week and there's always something going on so having to close up late at night after everyone's gone home was scary! I kept looking over my shoulder making sure no one was following me!
Yesterday we celebrated Bosses Day by hosting the 'International Raceway'!! We've spent more than 3 months planning this and the pastors had a blast! We rented a golf cart and had them drive it through an obstacle course, over ramps, around trash cans while they tried to shoot a basketball, backing up around sharp turns, they screeched the tires, one almost tipped over, another almost fell out... we were all (the pastors included!) laughing so hard! Then we headed inside for pulled pork burgers and potato salad. The day was a success!
Two of my co-workers (and co-conspirators!) taking it for a spin before everyone got there.
Some of the support staff getting their instructions before the pastors arrived.
Having lunch
It was so much fun planning it, all the secret meetings, hiding the cones and flags... but we did it! The pastors had no idea! It was awesome!

Oh my goodness those golf cart races look like so much fun! Obviously it was but what a great time and awesome idea. I'm so glad Beth likes her job and doing such a good job. I'm sure she is so proud of herself. I've been so busy i've neglected my blogging friends. It's nice to see what you've been up to and I agree with the creepy halls.
Hi Cindy~
What fun!! I love surprises, especially when I'm surprising someone else, that always the best fun!
I love that Beth is being independent and loving her job. I'll be that makes her mama happy too.
I don't like being the only one in an empty building, I always think that's creepy...it is October after all ;0)
Safe travels!
Hugs and Love,
Barb
Go Beth! I am so glad thats working out for everyone with that job!
Have a safe flight!!! & enjoy your family in the celebration!
How cool it must have been for the bosses to have International Racing Day made by you lot.
And knowing where the supplies are - really important in the job context.
Saimi - will check you and your past work out.
Those memories of being in empty buildings...
Oh how fun that looks! I would love to do golf cart racing.😊
I'm so happy that Beth loves her job. Yes that does sound creepy closing up when no one was there. Sounds like so much fun, what a great way to celebrate Bosses Day. Hope you had a safe flight and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
What a fun idea for celebrating your bosses. Love it. It really is nice that Beth loves her job, too. A blessing...
