Busy With Good Things

There has been so much going on around here lately. Good things though.

Beth went for an eye test and will be getting new glasses soon. She helped me fill out the paperwork then I had her take it back to the desk. The admin thanked her and said she really appreciated her bringing it back, I couldn't hear if Beth actually said anything back to her. The tests went well and she found some new frames. It was funny to watch her expressions as she tried on different styles and colors. I suggested she look away from the mirror, then glance back at herself, she made some awful faces, "I take it you don't like those?" "Nope." And we'd laugh. The frames she ended up with are called Purple Confetti. They're due in next week.

That was last Friday, the 20th. This past Friday she had an appointment at the Dermatologist for more cortisone shots for the alopecia. Afterward she wanted to go out for frozen yogurt so we went to our favorite place: Revelations Yogurt. We were there a few weeks ago too.

After we left the yogurt place we walked around the shops for a few minutes and came across this mural. It's of the pier I often walk when I'm down by the waterfront.

Let's see, we've finally found some new dressers! We've been to so many stores, we're thankful the search is over. They'll be delivered this Friday.

They'll be delivered before we head to church to help with the Good Friday service.

Plus Beth's case worker is coming by tomorrow for the in-house assessment. Just to make sure Beth is in a good living situation. We'll take her downstairs and then Beth will show her around her apartment.

We've had a new little boy in our Sunday school class. So now there are three kids, one girl and two boys: 7, 5, and 3. They're all autistic and have many of the same behaviors. Today they did so well together, it was a really good day.

I got a framed picture sent off to my sister.
Took a bunch of stuff to Goodwill that had been taking up space in our office area.
Tomorrow we go live with our new room reservation system at work.
And next Monday Beth and I have dentist appointments.

And I think that's enough for now! :)
I hope you all have a great week!

Chocolate and Strawberries and Gels

Thank you Latane and Pamela for the suggestions about the birds nest. I took a broom and cleaned up everything the mom and dad had pulled onto the porch but a couple days later, they had pulled even more out from behind the wreath! Those nests are pretty complex structures.

Beth and I went out for yogurt the other day. You get your own yogurt from their 6 or so flavors, (they change weekly) and add your own toppings, then pay by the weight. We both got chocolate yogurt with fresh strawberries on top! (I also added a few mini chocolate chips and she got mini marshmallows!) It was so good!

Then we needed to go to the drug store for a few random things: nail files, lined paper... and as we were walking through the stationary department she audibly gasped! They had the gel pens she'd been looking for for months. She took it off the shelf... and hugged it. 😊 Then she looked at me, "I don't know if I get two." When I told her she had enough money in her account, she grabbed it off the shelf so fast! One happy girl!

As we were driving home she let out a big sigh, "I love shopping."

A Fountain In the Center

After church on Sunday Beth and I decided to go get some frozen yogurt. Our city has a small center of town where the city actually began (it's grown to over 42,000 people) but 'downtown' is still small and quaint. We have a fountain in the center, a movie theater that opened in 1924, it's a fun place to walk around and shop.

Lot's of outdoor seating now due to covid and thankfully the weather was beautiful. Beth bought a new wallet and a canvas to color, the yogurt was so good, it was just a nice relaxing afternoon.

One In a Million - The Weekend in Pictures

On Friday Diana and I took Allie to the beach.

I bet the streets of our home town looked a lot like the streets of yours on Saturday!
And like the streets of a million small towns across America this weekend!

Did Captain America come to your town too?

Sharaya drove and Diana & Allie rode in a car from the dealership they work for.
It's hard to tell, but they're in there! :)

The view from our seats!

Then on Sunday, Beth offered to take us out to her favorite restaurant, Old Country Buffet.
(She calls it Pass The Plate.)

Chuck, Beth and I had this morning off (Monday) so we went out for yogurt and then down to the water front for a while.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend too!

Around and Around

Beth, Allie and I went out for frozen yogurt last week. The weather was so warm, it just hit the spot! Beth is taking a Bod4God class to help her lose weight and one of the things they tell you to do is park far away from the store, your job, etc. and walk the extra distance. So I purposely parked a couple blocks away.

After yogurt, we went to the park. Allie loves this blue swing. Whenever I tell her we're going to the park, she always asks, "The one with the blue swing?!?"

Then she rode her bike around.

And around.

And around!! At first she was going really slow and Beth and I walked with her but then she was riding faster and faster. Beth decided to wait on a bench while I ran behind.

Then it was back home for lunch. Allie asked if she could eat downstairs with Beth... and Beth said yes! She usually doesn't like people to eat down there with her, but she's letting Allie come downstairs more often. I love that they're becoming closer as Allie gets older.
