I'm Home, and The Kids' Visit

Hi,
I flew in late last night and ended up not going to church this morning. I'm grateful we're able to stream the service because that's what I did instead. It's been a busy couple of weeks. The Lord answered my prayers about perseverance, and not getting sick. You know how there are some seasons where you go and go and go, and eventually you end up not feeling well and before you know it you're exhausted and sick? I prayed against that before it all began and I can say today, I'm rested and I feel good.

The day before our family arrived from Pennsylvania, Beth had an appointment down in Seattle. It was a gloomy day, and I'm glad Chuck took the day off to drive us. The last time I was so stressed about having to navigate downtown streets, and about the appointment itself. But because Chuck drove, it was much less stressful. Beth got changed, and then she and I waited for the technician to call us back.

Beth was able to do a seated mammo and did much better this time. The images were much clearer. I took this pic from the internet to show you a little of what it was like for her.

Unfortunately they are concerned about an area and really want to do a biopsy, but they know Beth wouldn't be able to handle it due to her body shape and her cognitive ability. So for now they will continue to monitor her with more frequent screenings. If the area of concern changes at all, we'll have to revisit the idea of a biopsy.

Then Diana, Peter and the kids arrived! They explored everything! Adelaide is at that age where everything is met with one word, "Why?" 😊 And Oliver is crawling and learning to pull himself up on things.

One day we all went down to the waterfront, and stopped for some ice cream.

We tried to keep the kids busy, that's for sure!

It was so good to have them here! We love you guys and are already looking forward to the next time we get to see you!

I enjoyed all the pictures. I will keep Beth in prayer concerning the mamo. I just went through that because they felt something but the test showed nothing! Looks like your family had a great time!!!

Looks like you all had a wonderful time, and the kids certainly were well entertained and had plenty of fun things to do! So happy for all of you! Praying for Beth that the breast issue is nothing to be too concerned about, but glad they will monitor it for now. Nice that they could do a sit down mammo. That sounds like it would be nicer for anyone. Glad you had a good vacation, and now I guess it's back to work, but with lots of happy memories. Thank you for sharing them with us!

Glad you’re doing well. Thinking of Beth.

They should do an ultrasound, which gives much more detailed images than the mammogram.

I'm glad the mammogram went better but very sorry there is an area that needs watching. I know it will reside in the back of your head and cause worry and I'm sorry for that.
It looks like a wonderful time was had by all during the kids visit. There is nothing like a grandchild or two to liven the place up!
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy

I'm glad you are rested and feel good. Wow, that sky does not look good at all. How nice to have the family visit. The waterfront looks lovely and the ice cream sounds good. The kids are so cute. That's a lot of bubbles. Sweet picture of them.

Looks like the kids' visit was a tremendous time. You made so many memories. Love all the smiles. And the photo of Beth holding Oliver is priceless. So glad you had such a great visit.

Worried about Beth. Is there no way to sedate her for a biopsy if the time comes? I had one and it was not fun at all so I understand your concerns about putting her through that. Thankful she can had a seated mammogram. Hoping they can just continue to monitor things and whatever they are watching just disappears like my mass did. Miraculous!!
Glad you are home and well. Prayers answered. We have been home for over a month from our trip and I am still coughing. I prayed that PC would stay well but guess I should have prayed that I did, too!!

Hello! I am so glad they could offer a mammogram that was comfortable for Beth. Prayers that it requires no further care. And how much fun did you have with your precious family all there?!?! I am so happy you all enjoyed the visit, my friend. Have a cozy afternoon!

Will keep Beth in my prayers. I need to have a mammo done but I can't until the sling comes off. You have a beautiful family!πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—
