We had our dress fittings last weekend! As we were driving to David's Bridal Beth said, "It's almost here!" Chuck and Sharaya are announcing the count down, "Sixty one days!" "Fifty nine days!" As I write this the wedding is in 51 days. We pick up the dresses one week before we leave.
Our washing machine is on it's last... it's about ready to... well, no not really. We bought our washer and dryer - used - more than 15 years ago and they're still going strong! I don't have to have the newest and fanciest gadgets: I'm an advocate of 'if it's not broke, don't fix it.' So we just keep using them! It's just that the knob came off the washer a couple months ago and now it's really hard to choose the cycle. We use our fingernails, pliers, anything we can to get that dial to move.
Our house was built in the 50s and the space for the washer and dryer is really small. We're finding that the appliances they make today are too big to fit in our laundry room so we've decided to just buy the washer for now and figure out what to do with the dryer if - when - that finally goes. Our current washer:
And the one that will be delivered next week:
This one's much bigger and there's no agitator in it. I've heard good and bad things about not having one so I'm curious to see how this does. Do you have a preference?
Beth has wanted to get her hair cut lately. This time she got layers and she's so excited about it! She can't wait to show all her friends. Sorry, I never got an 'after' photo. I'll try to get one in the next few days.
Have you had a hair cut recently? My hair is the exact length today that I want it for the wedding. I may go in and have them take off just one inch! 😊

Those 51 days will go by fast! Lol I can't remember if our washer has an agitator and the dog is asleep on my feet so I don't want to disturb him. Wait, we do have an agitator now that I remember. Always have had it so I wouldn't know the difference.
I like the color of the bridesmaid dresses.
I got my haircut 2 months ago. I will probably let it grow out some over the winter. We will see :)
Betty
It's definitely getting closer. It is so exciting. Hooray on the new washing machine. Let us know what you think about it not having an agitator. We just had to put in a new hot water tank. I'm getting a cut and color on Friday. I've been waiting six weeks for this appointment!
Countdown is ONNNN - Cant wait for wedding pics.
our washing machine does not have an agitator & I LOVE IT! Gives more room to pile clothes in & easier to get them out. I have no issues with getting clothes clean either
I wonder how the washer works w/o an agitator? That should be interesting. Our washer is probably well over 10 years old, I don't remember now when we bought it, but it still works good so I hope we don't have to replace it anytime soon. We did replace our dryer a couple of years ago. We stick with the simplest designs so there is less to go wrong! Love the color of Beth's dress. That will be so pretty in the fall! I know you are getting excited now. Haircut? I get one about ever 6 weeks. I am due now, but am thinking about waiting a little longer and get a new perm. I am letting the last one grow out, which was from several months ago...I can't remember when now! LOL. My hair has gotten to a point where it needs a perm to hold its style and it is so much easier to deal with...just wash and go! I enjoyed your post. Enjoy your new washer and have a happy next few weeks preparing for the wedding.
How exciting and thanks for letting us share in the excitement!! I look forward to seeing Beth's new haircut! Love the dress! I ordered a new dial for my old washer but it was years ago. It came and worked fine but your new washer looks great! I've never had one that doesn't agitate.
I love Beth's dress. That's a knockout color.
Those countdowns are exciting I think the wedding we are traveling to is in 58 days. I just got my hair cut yesterday and I'll get it cut again just before we hit the road for the wedding. I'm really not sure what I like better in a washer...
Happy weekend
Had to stop and think...my washer doesn't have an agitator either. Hmmm. I think it is cleaning the clothes ok, though. Look at all the new dials you have with your new washer. Fancy!!
Beth has really pretty hair. Will look forward to photos of her layers. Such a pretty caramel color. I know what you mean about liking your hair and its length now and wanting to have it be the same way in the not-so-distant future. I usually like my hair right before I get it cut. Then have to let it grow out some to get back to where I like it for a week before going to get it cut again. Ha!! I have one good hair week every 3-4 months.
The wedding dresses are such a pretty shade. Perfect for early fall.
