Guess what day it is!
The other day I was looking through a photo album of a trip we took to Disneyland back in 2011 and when I saw this picture of Toon Town I thought, 'That's exactly how I feel!'
Can anyone else relate?
With everything that's been going on life just seems lopsided. My brain has been chaotic and it's hard to have a clear thought. And then I realized I might be grieving. The 5 stages of grief are denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. I feel like I've been fighting mild depression the last couple of months, I'm kinda sad, I don't really want to do anything... I sincerely think we're all grieving in some way. Grieving the loss of our jobs, our schools, relationships, routines, vacations. We're grieving the loss of some of our freedoms, of the lives we've known. Grief is heavy and the hardest part is we don't know how much longer we have to carry it. This year has been hard!
But... in spite of all the loss and the hard stuff, if we really look for it, there's always something to be thankful for ~

You are so right ... there is a lot of grief for different people on things. So much missing out - so much loss in expectations.
If 2020 was a house :)
I think we all need a refresher course in grieving. You are right -- losses aren't just deaths, but all the things that we lose that are part of our way of life -- including how we live it. This is such a lovely, thoughtful post, Cindy. And spot on.
I agree with you but I don't think I have been depressed. Happy anniversary this week!! And yes, to always family!
Happy Anniversary!! Celebrate big! We just have to take it a day at a time and do what we can to stay happy and positive, right?
Thanks for dropping in to see me, so sweet of you!

Happy Anniversary! Must have been a good week for weddings...our 51st anniversary is on the 16th! Hard to believe. I don't think I'm any older than 51. LOL. Yes, we are grieving to a certain extent these days. These times are very difficult on us in many different ways, especially depending upon where you live and how strict things are where you are. I am thankful that I am no longer working nor do we have any children /grandchildren in school. That would be the most difficult...and also thankful we don't have any elderly family members in nursing homes, etc. either. So things could always be worse than they are, but still we feel the pinch of our little freedoms being wiggled away from us and we also feel the heartache of those who have lost loved ones or who have been sick themselves. It's a hard time for all. Praying that God will somehow make this thing go away...but in the meantime we do the best we can with what we have to live with and count our blessings.
It is good that you admit how you feel. Everyone deals with stress and loss in their own way. I am surprised that I am doing okay since I have dealt with depression and anxiety before. I started reading my Bible again in the beginning of the year. I also work on my crafts and I am in several online groups that are fun. I do miss my friends from church. I have to stay off the news for the most part. I am a retired postal worker and I hate hearing what is happening to the Postal service. I will keep you in prayer.
Happy Anniversary. Being thankful is a great remedy for depression!
Happy Anniversary! The feelings you describe I can relate too. My family and I were discussing that it feels like we are living in an alternate universe. It's almost like something passed over the earth and changed everything and we will all wake up and none of what's going on never happened.
