Do it with me, deep breath in... and exhale.
One more time, deep breath in... and exhale.
It's been a crazy couple of weeks. My last post was about Beth stepping on the nail. That was on a Thursday.
Then on Monday she had her first cortisone shot in her scalp for the scarring alopecia. They're going to monitor it to see if it works. If they can see hair growing in that area, they'll do more injections next time. She did okay with the one, but I'm not sure how she'll do with multiple shots at once.
Four days after that, we went downtown Seattle for a follow-up diagnostic appointment. They couldn't get clear images so they've decided to just do a biopsy. "We really don't know if it's needed, but just in case, let's do it." Then they explain the procedure as "difficult, painful, and lasting about 45 minutes."
I'm going to call them to see instead, about trying once more to get better images. Really praying about what we're supposed to do about all this.
Chuck hurt his back a couple weeks ago and started physical therapy this week.
I have been overseeing our room reservation system at work for more than 12 years. It's not supported anymore so for the last few months my boss and I have been learning a new program, and transferring all the data from the old to the new. Every room, every user, and every resource, (chairs, tables, tablecloths, cups, plates, napkins, stanchions, room dividers, sound tech) everything the admin might want for their events.
Yesterday we had a zoom call with the company, and with the 13 admin who will use it for their departments. With set up, the zoom call itself, Q&A and lunch afterward, I was in there for four hours. By that point I was done!
I've decided this weekend I'm not doing a thing! Maybe a load of laundry. And watching the game on Sunday. Seattle Seahawks are in the Superbowl! It's been exciting around this city lately.
Last Friday after Beth's appointment downtown, we decided we needed a little retail therapy.
She tried on some jean jackets but the sleeves were very long on one, and the other was just a little too small. And for some reason these didn't have working side pockets. That girl loves her pockets!
I'm sorry this is short but it's about all the energy I have for now. I've been reading your posts, but not always commenting. Hoping to get back to that soon. Have a great weekend.
Breathe in.... and exhale. I've got to remember to do that!

Wow, you are in a whirlwind of activities and appointments, etc. Yes, I can certainly understand why you don't have time to comment, read, write. I don't have anything of any real importance to do and yet I still have problems keeping up with things/everyone. (It's called retirement...don't do it until you are ready to get busy doing nothing and everything!) I missed the post about Beth stepping on a nail. I need to go back and get caught up. And who is having the biopsy (or not?) You, or Beth? I missed that too. I need to do some catching up I guess. So did Beth decide on a jeans jacket at all? I hope she can find what she likes. Take care of yourself and give yourself some breathing room when you can. I know, easier said than done, but sometimes you just have to take the time and make the time for you, or you won't be able to keep going. I've been there and done that...trust me...take care of yourself, okay?? (((HUGS))) and prayers.
She looks cute in her jean jacket with pockets. I hope all the testing turns our well. Physical therapy really help!
I hope the shots work. I didn't know they did that for hair loss. Yes, that 45 minute procedure sounds scary to me. I hope Chuck's back gets better. Wow, that sounds like a big project at work. Yes, I agree, do nothing this weekend. Enjoy the game. Glad you went shopping. Have a nice weekend.
Life does get crazy busy - well, most of the time! Keep us posted on the better images. Hope they can work that out! Beth looks cute modeling her jean jacket! Have a quiet and restful weekend!!
Wow...you do have a lot going on. Hope things ease up and that imaging can work for Beth instead of the 45 minute procedure!!
Sending all good wishes for Beth. I do hope they can find an easier procedure or do additional films. I know how traumatic that could be. And then Chuck, too. Golly, I hope your job is understanding of time away. I wish you could take a leave! Yes, only laundry!
My goodness. You have a lot on your plate, my friend. You always seem to carry your cross with strength and grace. I hope this weekend has been and continues to be a cozy calm one for you! Enjoy the game!
She looks sweet in her denim jacket. I still have mine from the 90s but the sleeves need repairs. Praying all goes well with the shots.
There is lots going on in your world. I haven't had the computer on all weekend so I'm just seeing this now. And the Super Bowl just finished. GO HAWKS! As you may know, we lived in Spokane for 30 years until we had to move to Nebraska to care for my dear MIL with dementia. Our retirement plans changed completely, we sold everything and moved back here to take care of her. We were at several virtual Seahawks parties with friends in Washington tonight. So happy they won!
Prayers for all of the appointments and that they can retry Beth's test so she doesn't have to have the painful one.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Ugh - this sounds stressful. It would be so great if they could get better images so you have good information before next steps are decided. Hope things settle down for you. Hooray for your team's performance in the Superbowl.
Thinking of you and sending love your way.

Have missed a post along the way about the imaging and the possibility of a biopsy instead of additional imaging. Is this for Beth? Is it breast imaging and a breast biopsy? My breast biopsy certainly wasn't much fun. Praying more imaging can be done and maybe the need for a biopsy will be ruled out.
Your 4-hour meeting sounds dreadful. I am sure you were wiped out. But how 'bout them Seahawks!! That big win surely revived you!!
