A Quick Post

On Saturday Chuck woke up, went to the bathroom, checked his blood sugar and was making coffee when he suddenly didn't feel well. He sat down in the office chair and quietly said, "Cindy? I feel queasy."

I stood up and took about 3 steps toward him when... down he went. Completely passed out and fell out of the chair. He didn't brace himself, protect himself, just went down hard.

He cut his head, on what I think was the heater vent deflector. You guys, it was bad. I freaked out, one of the worst wounds I've ever seen in my life. I grabbed a washcloth and put it on his head and just kept calling his name.

Yelling actually. If I yell loud enough he'll hear me and come to, right?!? Crazy, I know.

He was covered in blood. Sharaya called 911.

After getting 14 staples in his head, all the tests came back normal: CT scan of his brain, blood work, EKG, urine sample... a few hours later the doctor had him sit in a small chair and was talking about discharging him when he said he was feeling dizzy again. A few guys got him back into the bed just in time.

They're keeping him overnight again tonight because every test comes back normal. They have no idea why he passed out so they're going to send him home with a heart monitor tomorrow and see how that goes.

I've thrown the heat deflector away.

That is so scary. I hate more than anything when there are no answers... praying they figure it out quickly!

Yikes. I don't think there is anything more scary than not knowing what is going on with something like that. I hope they can determine something from the tests. Perhaps vertigo or inner ear? I can see why you would be terrified and I hope all ends up well. 14 staples. Ouch!

How frightening. I certainly hope and pray that the doctors can find out what's wrong and get him all straightened out. Hugs.

Same thing happened to my husband several weeks ago. Doctors determined he was dehydrated and said its quite common in older people. I now make sure he drinks plenty of water.

That was scary I am sure. I pray that by now they have figured something out and that he is much better. Praying for you all now. Yes, dehydration can definitely do that,as well as blood pressure issues or heart issues. Hopefully they will get to the bottom of it and he will be just fine. (((hugs))) to you.
