Mysterious Moving Magnets

Hello Friends!

I really do consider you friends. I think about you during the week and wonder how you're doing. I wish I could just travel the country and visit each one of you, stopping for coffee, conversation, and a big hug. I hope you're doing well.

I forgot to tell you I took Beth to the bowling alley last week to pick up her bag. She absolutely loves it! It's hard to be the only one without, and now she has the same type of bag as all her friends.

Okay, onto the story behind the title.

I like to collect refrigerator magnets. The rectangle ones are good, I've purchased some of those, but my favorites are the unique ones. Even our girls will sometimes bring one back when they've been traveling.

These tell the story of our lives. Places we've visited, adventures we've had. Sometimes when I'm waiting for the tea kettle to get hot I'll just look them over and reminisce about how we've had such a good life. And I've experienced many things others have just dreamed about.

These are just a few:

One day I come out to the kitchen and notice one or two of the magnets are missing. I can tell there are empty spaces where they used to be. Interesting. So I move them around a little to fill in the spaces and go about my day.

A week or two later, same thing. Empty spaces. This went on for a while. And I notice the side of the fridge is becoming full. 'What in the world? How did they get over here?' And I'd put them back on the front.

Then one day I see Beth taking them off the front of the fridge. When I asked her why she was moving them to the side she said it was too busy. "You have too many magnets." 😄

We used to have those alphabet magnets on the refrigerator, and the kids would write out all sorts of nonsense and insults, I used to love seeing what they were up to. You have too many magnets, too funny.

LOL! I think it's cute that Beth moved your magnets! She has a sense of style! And I love her bowling bag! That is really snazzy!! I love your magnets. I don't have that many, but I love the ones I have because so many have been gifts. Yes, they do bring back memories.

What a cute story! Beth was the culpret and she had a strong opinion about the design on your refrigerator. Fun!

That's hilarious! First, Beth looks great with her new bowling bag. I also collect magnets on our travels. I'll have to remember to take a photo to put on my blog. Our daughter also told me that our refrigerator was too busy. So before I husband retired, he got a 36" square of galvanized steel from work and then framed it with wood and it now hangs above my sewing machine. It is completely filled! I should have asked for a 48" square one instead. Ha! He also made one for our daughter. It hangs in the hall between their garage door and kitchen. Our granddaughters school schedule, pictures she's drawn, appointment cards, etc., hang on it. She loves hers too. But I truly love my magnets. I look at them and remember our travels.
I hope your Friday is a wonderful one. Hello to Beth and the rest of your family.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy

Hi Cindy, I wish we could chat over a cup of tea one day. I live in NZ and have been a 'silent' reader of your blog for many years. Colleen

Beth looks so happy with her new bag. We collect magnets too! I forgot to get one when we were at Disneyland. I did get a keychain. I should have gotten two. I wrote about Disneyland at my blog. Come and visit when you can.
