A couple of weekends ago Chuck and Sharaya drove from Seattle down to Santa Clara, CA to join in the Super bowl festivities. The day before the game they went to the Fan Experience at a convention center with all things Super bowl related: food, activities, displays. They enjoyed that but said it was very crowded.
The next day, even though they didn't have tickets to the actual game they found an Irish pub that was flying the 12's flag and spent the day there.
They got there before it opened and there were enough people waiting outside that the owner let them all in early. By the time the game started that afternoon they said it was so loud you couldn't even hear the TVs, and the place was packed and people were crazy... and they had the BEST time! They were so glad they went! (I didn't go because I wouldn't be able to handle that much noise for that many hours.)
Diana and Oliver were dressed in their green to represent the Seahawks!
And this was me watching from home without my hubby. I think it's the first big game we haven't seen together. But I was wearing my fuzzy socks, and had some hot tea and fun snacks. And we won! So I had fun!
Let's see, what else? Oh, Chuck bought a new car recently. New-to-us but still, new! It's a 2022 Hundai Tucson and he really likes it. I say 'his' car (we each have a car) but it's actually our family/retirement car. He wanted to get something newer that would last us through our golden years. We'll pay it off before he retires and we expect this will be the last car we ever buy.
We had a few days of sunshine so for lunch one day I walked around our parking lot at work. And saw these little daffodils, they made me smile! It's a little early for them here but we've had some nice weather this winter. The plants are so confused.
- Beth's foot is completely healed from where she stepped on the nail.
- It looks like hair is growing in the area where she had the cortisone shot for the alopecia so we made another appointment for next month.
- I was able to cancel the biopsy and schedule a third mammo. I asked if we could do it in Bellevue (about 20-30 minutes east of us) because I was told they have a machine where you can take pics while seated. And she curiously said, "Well, we have one of those machines here too." I don't know why the lady in Seattle didn't tell me that! But we now have a new appointment scheduled for Seattle.
- Chuck is going to physical therapy a couple times a week and his back is doing much better.
Okay now I think I've covered everything. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Great updates! Cute picture of you watching the game by yourself, but how fun that your hubby and daughter got to share the fun of almost being at the game!! I wouldn't enjoy the crowds and noise, either, so understand completely why you stayed home! I'm glad Beth's foot is healed and fine. Sending hugs!!
I wouldn't have enjoyed being in that crowded place watching the game, I'd vote for from the living room too! Daffodils, wow!!!! Getting old is interesting, my sister just passed away at 70, but a few months ago we were joking about how we were both rattling around pushing walkers like old people, we were not old people! It goes by fast...my husband was just saying this morning that if he gets this new-to-him truck he's looking at, it will probably be the last one...so strange, but it's our reality.
Go Hawks! We do miss living in Washington with all of the excitement of the Seahawks and Mariners. No pro teams here, just college football that is it's own mayhem. :-)
Nice car. We've been thinking about doing the same thing. My car is almost 9 years old and in great shape but we've been thinking of replacing it for our "last" car. We also have a truck to pull our 5th wheel but I don't drive that unless absolutely necessary. It's huge!
Glad to hear the updates. All seems to be good news. We were planning to go camping for a few weeks but we got 9 1/2 inches of snow on Thursday and it's only 3F outside right now so we've decided to postpone that trip for awhile. Even if it melts it would be a mess of mud.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
What a great father/daughter trip to get in some close action from the Super bowl. Fun. Good news on the health front. Glad that machine is available!
Congratulations on the new car. Have a super day.
Good morning or whenever you get to read this. I'm glad things are going well with your family. I will be praying all goes well with your mammogram.
I hear you on the last car and all. I'm the same as to the car; Lizzie is my last cat. Not fair to an animal to start and then leave them. (Which is why I'm so committed to doing everything I can to keep her as healthy as possible for as long as I can. I'm glad Beth's foot is healing and that you could reschedule the mammogram. I hope all is well. And good news on Chuck!
That car is so pretty. I love the color. I would've opted to skip the Superbowl crowd to hang at home. I'm more into the ads than the game, but that would be different if my team was playing. Good luck with the medical stuff.
Glad for your updates and all the good news. How 'bout those Seahawks? We were pulling for them here in El Paso. We were happy they won. Sounds like your daughter and hubs had a bang up time together for the Super Bowl.
Hallelujah for a third (and seated!!) mammogram. Hope they can see everything they need to see in order to rule out anything worrisome.
Your new ride is beautiful. What a pretty color blue. It is weird to think this is the last house we will have, the last new car we will buy...where have the years gone?
I don't know how I missed so many of your posts. Sometimes I just can't keep up with everyone...they scroll past before I can get to them and it's all I can do to keep up with the most recent. But I am trying to play catch up here. I enjoyed this post and all the activities and the list of things going on with you and your family. I love your new to you car. We did the same thing last summer...bought a 2022 Chevy Equinox, which we hope will be our last "big purchase" of a car and that it will last us a long time, since we really don't travel that much. I love the color of yours. Ours is black, which is boring, but that's what they had in stock at the price we could (almost) afford. We don't like having payments again, but there was no other way to buy a newer car for us.
Oh, I recently had a mammo too, and they sent me a letter saying I need to have further evaluation, most likely because of "dense tissue" issues...which I trust that is what it is. The test isn't scheduled yet, but I meet with my PCP next week to discuss and move forward. I'm not too concerned about it, but will follow through with whatever needs to be done.
I hope you have a blessed rest of your week.
