Our Days Have Been Full

 Good evening friends,

I'm writing this on Monday night, although when I was getting on the laptop almost 30 minutes ago, I uploaded some photos, then noticed the desktop was cluttered with documents and so I started organizing those... and now my sister is calling from San Diego.

Okay, so now it's Tuesday afternoon. Chuck is at a doctor's appointment and Beth is down in her place watching TV. We've been so busy lately. All good things, but just really full days.

Chuck and I took a drive over the weekend, headed east over the 520 floating bridge and into Bellevue, Redmond and Issaquah. It was nice to get away for a few, just us. Mount Rainier was out in all her glory, so close it felt like you could reach out and touch it.

This is a picture of one of the bridges (Seattle has two floating bridges) that I took a few years ago flying into SEA Airport. The bridge is on pontoons that float in the somewhat shallow water.

We've been video chatting with Diana and the kids. Adelaide was helping her make chocolate chip cookies.

Beth had a doctor's appointment and needed to get some lab work done so they could check her thyroid.

And Christmas. I am so ready to decorate for Christmas! The other night I fixed some hot chocolate with whipped cream and watched a Christmas movie. I don't know, it just felt right!

Chuck should be home soon from his appointment so I need to get ready to go to our storage unit. We're putting away my greeting card/market displays and bringing back Christmas decorations! We usually wait until after Thanksgiving but for some reason this year, I want to decorate now. Do you usually wait for a certain day to decorate?

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Glad you could have a little getaway. Great photos. Nothing is set in stone as to when we'll start decorating for Christmas although I usually wait till after Thanksgiving.

We were in Seattle for 4 days after our cruise in 2006. I plan to start getting Christmas stuff out this Saturday. I have to take down Thanksgiving in the family room first. I like your mug. I hope Beth’s bloodwork comes out okay.

This year, I'm the one pushing to decorate early. Usually it's one of these girls, but they are dragging their feet...I think because they know they have to do most of it, with me laid up with this knee replacement. Shh, as much as I would like to picture myself letting them do it all how they like to, we know that ain't happening....bossiness will reign ha. Your pictures are beautiful! I love Mt. Rainier!

My across-the-street neighbor is all decorated for Christmas. It looks great, but I wait until after Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving and just can't do Christmas before then. Your photos are great! How interesting about the floating bridges!

I so enjoyed your photos of the west side. We lived in Spokane for 30 years before moving back home to Nebraska to take care of Mom. We so miss our trips to the mountains and the coast.
I usually decorate right after Thanksgiving but since we'll be in London for most of December, I think I'll just put the Nativity out and my snowmen that can stay out for January too.
Hope the doctors visit turned out well. Tomorrow is my yearly mammogram. Fun times!
Blessings,
Betsy

I understand about busy days. They just happen...even when retired...there's always something happening!! I love the photo of Adelaide helping her mommy bake cookies. She's growing us so fast!!! How can that be??? Regarding Christmas decor...I usually wait until after Thanksgiving because we often have company for Thanksgiving dinner, and I just can't manage having two holidays at once...our house isn't big enough for both at the same time. So usually a few days after Thanksgiving I start getting busy with putting away the Thanksgiving decor and putting out Christmas stuff a little at a time. We'll see how it goes this year. I just learned that my sister and all her family are coming here for Thanksgiving dinner, so that will keep me occupied between now and then just cleaning house and making preparations! But everyone should do what they enjoy doing regarding the holidays...not everyone is the same, and yes, I've already had some Hot Cocoa on these chilly nights we have been having. But I didn't use a Christmas cup. LOL. Take care and have a blessed rest of November!

What a beautiful drive you had. That bridge is amazing, and I can't get over how beautiful the trees are. Stunning! I need some better health to get going on Christmas. Your hot chocolate looks delicious. Have a lovely weekend.

Busy is OK when it's good things. I'm getting a bit itchy for Christmas too (and did do our photo card/letter yesterday) but resisting the urge to go before TG. We'll see if I hold out!
